Let’s be real, Beyoncé fully deserves her Queen Bey title. She’s received 9 nominations this year, bringing her total Grammy nominations to 79. This makes her the most nominated female in Grammy history. She’s tied with Paul McCartney, and comes only one nomination behind Jay-Z and Quincy Jones who hold the most at 80 nominations.
Youngest to Win in All Top 4 Categories
Billie Eilish
During the 62nd Grammy Awards, Billie Eilish made history as the youngest artist to win all top four awards in a single ceremony for her album ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go’. She received Record of the Year and Song of the Year for ‘Bad Guy’, which is undoubtedly one of the catchiest songs we’ve ever heard. And in case you missed it, Billie Eilish’s documentary just came out last week so be sure to give that a watch.
The list continues. Now in its 63rd year, the annual Grammy Awards have been honoring musical achievements across a growing number of categories. And while the show might look a little different this year, it’s worth noting that nominees for this year’s Record of the Year include singers Doja Cat, Dua Lipa and rapper Megan Thee Stallion. Plus, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Noah Cyrus, Ingrid Andress also received nominations in various categories so we’re definitely tuning in this March 14 to see them win.
The Recording Academy also put together a playlist for Women’s History Month 2021 which features female nominees for this year’s awards show, just in time for the month long celebration.
